Planning for growth:
In preparation for our Springtime activity, we offered all our practitioners and office staff a day's retreat at the Oasis Centre in St Lawrence. We explored our 'emotional health' through music, singing, artmaking, stone-painting, box decorating, walking in the lanes, inspirational words, prayer and reflection. What a blessing to be refuelled together, ready for the busy year ahead.
Preparing the soil:
We are hugely grateful for new funding streams at the start of this year from Ogier, Jersey Community Foundation and the Royal Bank of Canada, all catching the vision of our important therapeutic work, particularly for those with lived experience of domestic abuse.
Ongoing training is essential for all our practitioners to continue to deepen their practice. We are hosting a Level 3 Award in Creative and Play Counselling Skills for children and young people through training provider Create Hope. The Level 3 is an introduction for Level 6 and takes between May and September this year.
Planting seeds of hope:
Our therapeutic sessions have been extremely impactful already this year. We are now supporting 30 children/young people every week in schools and Jersey Hospice. The demand way outstrips our current capacity but we will grow sustainably, as funding allows.
